Dione Sound Stripes

With this novel approach to microspeaker arrays, we transfer the concept of LED-strips into acoustics. The flexible sound-stripes can be used as an audio add-on for existing non-audio products. It can also act as an array of tweeters in a typical multi-way system.

Dione sound stripes are available in two versions: Dione Maxi, which consists of MEMS speakers with an external amplifier, and Dione Mini, which consists of MEMS speakers with an integrated amplifier in the array.

Dione Maxi UY-R3020 consists of an array of MEMS speakers and the external amplifier board Amalthea 2.0 UA-R3020 to drive them. The speaker array, which is also referred to as the sound stripe, includes 20 USound Adap MEMS speakers. Due to its flexible structure and protective construction, the sound stripe is ideal for applications where audio is added on top of an existing design.

Dione Mini UY-R3010 has an array of 3 connected individual segments, which can be separated or extended to accommodate the user‘s need. Transfering the concept of led into acoustics

USound’s Dione sound stripe is a novel approach to loudspeaker arrays that allows unprecedented design flexibility.

Demonstrator: Proteus 2.0

Proteus 2.0 is a speaker system consisting of a base box with one 6.35 mm subwoofer and three sound tubes, each containing 20 MEMS speakers in an array, producing a homogenous clear surround sound.

USound for OPPO x Kengo Kuma

USound contributed to the multisensory landmark Bamboo (竹) Ring :|| Weaving a Symphony of Lightness and Form exhibited at the Milan Design Week 2021. This version of the installation features a layer of technology to engage all the senses with music through a series of orchestral scores composed by Japanese violinist Midori Komachi with Musicity. This was made possible by combining haptic motors, USound MEMS speakers, and exciters producing an immersive experience.
